Combining understated elegance with rugged endurance, these live-edge cutting boards are hand-crafted in Maine from oak, sanded silky smooth, and finished with a hand-rubbed combination of beeswax, coconut oil, and mineral oil. Oak is the king of the forest--its strong, long-lived wood used to frame barns and ships alike. This batch looks to me like red oak. It has a gorgeous reddish hue and pronounced grain. Quantities are limited, so order now!
Boards are available in small (12"x8"x.75"), medium (15"x8"x.75"), and large (18"x8"x.75"). **Since this is a live-edge product, widths do vary up to an inch.**
Sourced sustainably, each board originated from a cache of live-edge oak left in the Thistledome Barn (c.1846) in North Yarmouth, Maine.
